The Giant Golden Orb-weaver Spider is aptly named as it is a large spider with a strong web and it has even been found feeding on small birds unfortunate enough to have been trapped in its web.

Most Orb-weavers are gentle spiders that cause no harm to us should we find them inadvertently sharing a journey with us as we plod through the bush. I would not, however, be so keen to have this spider walking across my face.
